Dell Unleashed a Gaming PC and Notebook
Dell unleashed the XPS M1730 — the beast, notebook for gamers.
The company claims that the notebook is the world's first notebook to incorporate AGEIA PhysX Mobile Technology and Logitech's GamePanel LCD. Its PhysX processor helps deliver realistic movement and environmental interaction at incredible speeds without affecting the overall performance.
The GamePanel LCD allows gamers to view game stats, create new macros and track important system information without leaving the game. The high-octane notebook supports overclocking of Intel Core 2 Extreme processor X9000 to Bin +2 (up to 3.2GHz). It features Nvidia SLI technology with support for DirectX 10 graphics. It is the only notebook to feature the AGEIA PhysX 100M processor.
The notebook offers personalized choices in three colors: Crimson Red, Sapphire Blue, and Smoke Grey.
Its chassis is engineered to handle the thermal and power requirements of the most powerful next-generation graphics technology.
Other features include a backlit keyboard with separate 10-key number pad, a high-definition display with a lightning fast response time of 7 milliseconds and support for Dell's LightFX application, allowing users and developers to manipulate the system's multi-colored perimeter lighting LEDs.
It features Wi-Fi technology choices topped out by optional Wireless-N. Systems also include a built-in Web camera and digital array microphone for gamers to clearly see.
The XPS M1730 also features:
—Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 processor at 2.2GHz
—17-inch UltraSharp widescreen (1920x1200) display with TrueLife technology (wide viewing angle, 7ms response gray to gray, 260 nits typical brightness)
—4GB dual channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
—200GB 7,200 RPM hard disc drive
—8x DVD+/-RW
—Intel Pro/Wireless 3945 802.11 a/b/g Wireless with WiFi Catcher, Bluetooth version 2.0+
Choice of Microsoft Windows Vista Premium or Windows XP Professional
—ExpressCard Consumer IR Travel Remote Control
—80WHr Lithium-Ion battery
—Optional 64GB solid state disc (SSD) drives or traditional platter hard drives, some supporting dual hard drive and RAID array configurations
—Optional Blu-ray Disc Drive
Dell also launched its premier gaming desktop — XPS 730 H2C edition that is claimed to be one of the most advanced gaming platforms on the planet.
It supports optional quad-core processors, quad GPU graphics solutions and up to four hard drives.
The XPS 730 H2C brings together technologies such as the new NVIDIA nforce 790i Ultra SLI chipset with standard ATX motherboard. It supports variety of optional high performance graphics solutions, including the ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 in four- way CrossFireX or NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT with SLI technology.
It has up to four hard drives factory installed, supporting a variety of high performance RAID arrays.
Its optional patent-pending H2C cooling solution has been enhanced.
Other enhancements include:
—Re-designed the CPU cold plate to provide more uniform cooling to all four processor cores, reducing the hottest core temperature when running at full load.
—Added an additional cold plate to cool the chipset. Lower chipset temperature helps improve stability with front side bus overclocking.1
—Added dynamic speed control to the pump and fans to help eliminate audible noise when the system is at idle.
—Added a separate fan to provide assured cooling to the CPU's voltage regulator components.
External chassis armor choices include premium materials like 2.4mm anodized aluminum on the XPS 730 H2C in brushed aluminum in Silver on the air-cooled XPS 730.
Additional features:
—Standard ATX motherboard, 1 kilowatt 80PLUS power supply, and clean cable management for easy component upgrades
—Large, quiet pulse width modulation (PWM) fans
—Support for the new Enthusiast System Architecture (ESA), enabling real-time and complete PC performance management, while delivering new control and monitoring features for thermal, electric and acoustic characteristics.
The Dell XPS M1730 is available at the starting price of Rs. 1,00,800 and the Dell XPS 730 H2C desktop is available at the starting price of RS. 139,900
